Spooky Fun at Our Club Halloween Competition

The comp floor had a little extra magic this weekend. Alongside the routines, the balances, the jumps and the big finishes, there were Halloween outfits, decorations, certificates, photos, medals and a whole lot of smiles.

Our club Halloween competition brought together our Hub and Spaces groups for a fun, friendly event that celebrated effort, confidence and teamwork. The gymnasts have worked so hard with their coaches and leaders to put their routines together, and this weekend was their chance to show everyone what they have been practising.

It was spooky, it was busy, it was full of energy, and it was a brilliant reminder of what club events are really all about: giving every gymnast a moment to shine.

Hard work ready for the comp floor

Every routine seen on the day started long before the competition weekend. Across training sessions, our Hub and Spaces gymnasts have been learning skills, remembering sequences, building confidence and listening carefully to their coaches and leaders.

For some, the biggest achievement was performing in front of an audience. For others, it was remembering the full routine, improving a landing, showing control on apparatus or simply walking onto the floor with a smile.

Those moments matter. A club competition gives gymnasts the chance to experience the excitement of an event in a supportive setting. They get to feel the nerves, hear the applause and enjoy the pride that comes from doing their best.

The routines showed just how much effort has gone in. There was focus, determination and plenty of character. Even better, the gymnasts supported each other throughout the day, cheering friends on and celebrating each other’s achievements.

A Halloween competition full of smiles

The Halloween theme made the whole event feel extra special. From outfits to decorations, everything helped create a fun atmosphere from start to finish.

There were spooky touches around the venue, themed certificates to take home, lots of photo opportunities and plenty of excited conversations before and after each routine. The costumes added colour and personality, and it was lovely to see gymnasts enjoying the chance to dress up while still showing off their skills.

The best part was simple: so many smiley faces.

Competitions can feel big, especially for younger gymnasts or those who are still building confidence. This event kept the focus on fun, encouragement and participation. The Halloween theme helped everyone relax, enjoy the experience and make happy memories with their teammates.

The atmosphere in the room said it all. Families clapped, coaches encouraged, judges watched carefully, helpers kept everything moving, and gymnasts stepped up one by one to perform what they had worked on.

Medals, certificates and proud moments

There were lots of individual apparatus medals awarded throughout the event, giving gymnasts the chance to be recognised for their performances across different pieces. Those medal moments were wonderful to watch, especially when gymnasts realised their name had been called.

A medal is a lovely reward, but the proud moments went far beyond the podium.

We saw gymnasts:

  • Take part in a competition setting with confidence

  • Perform routines they had practised for weeks

  • Try their best, even when feeling nervous

  • Support teammates before and after their routines

  • Celebrate improvements and personal achievements

  • Enjoy the Halloween fun from start to finish

The themed certificates were another special touch. They gave every gymnast something to take away and remember the day by. For many, that certificate will be a reminder of courage, hard work and a very fun weekend at the club.

A huge thank you to the team

Events like this only happen because people give their time, energy and care.

A huge thank you goes to all our coaches, judges, helpers, leaders and the whole team who helped put on such a fantastic event. From preparing gymnasts in training to setting up the space, organising the flow of the day, judging routines, handing out medals and keeping everything running, every role made a difference.

Club competitions involve a lot of work behind the scenes. There are routines to prepare, groups to organise, equipment to manage, awards to sort, photos to capture and lots of little jobs that make the day feel smooth and welcoming.

The effort was clear. The event felt warm, well supported and full of positive energy, and that is because of the people who worked together to make it happen.

Thank you to our families and supporters

We also want to say a big thank you to all the parents, guardians and supporters who came along.

Your encouragement matters. Applause from the side, a smile before a routine, a cheer at the end and a proud hug afterwards all help gymnasts feel supported. It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the event and celebrating the gymnasts’ achievements.

Thank you for helping create such a positive atmosphere. The support from the room made the competition feel even more special, and the gymnasts clearly enjoyed having people there to watch them perform.

A weekend to remember

Our club Halloween competition was full of the things we love most about gymnastics: effort, teamwork, confidence, friendship and fun.

The routines were brilliant to watch, the Halloween theme brought so much joy, and the smiles around the room said everything. Whether a gymnast went home with medals, certificates, photos, memories or simply the proud feeling of taking part, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

Well done to all our Hub and Spaces gymnasts. You worked hard, performed with confidence and made the weekend very special.

Here’s to more fun, more progress and many more moments on the comp floor.
