Yes. You must pre book your place on our classes. If you turn up to any of our classes without booking you will not be allowed into the classes. Go to our 'book online' section to book you class now.
Our classes vary in price. Some sessions are pay as you go while others are booked in blocks. You can find the prices for our classes by going to our book online page.
Our 'Diddy Dragons' Parent and child classes are pay as you go. However you must book your place online before attending. Our recreational classes are booked in blocks and you must pay your fee in advance when you book your class.
When your first block of sessions has come to an end you will receive an invoice for your next block. This allows you to keep your place in the same class. You must accept your place and pay your invoice. Failure to do so may cause you to lose your space in the class, as it will then be opened up to new participants. You will be notified when it's new booking week, which is usually around every 8 sessions.
Gymnasts should wear sporty clothing that is comfortable, stretchy and suitble for gymnastics. Suitable clothing includes, a leotard, leggings, shorts, t-shirt. All jewellery must be removed before the class and please make sure hair is tied up neatly.
Make sure they bring a drink along with them to keep them hydrated throughout the session.
Most of our recreational classes last 1 hour. Some of our older classes will last 1.5 hours. This will show when you book your class.
You will see a sign for Deeside Gymnastics Academy outside our unit. The entrance is located to left of the roller shutter. Wait in the waiting area until the coach comes to collect the children for their class. From there, the coaches will show the children what to do.
Yes we have large viewing balcony for parents/guardians who wish to stay and watch their child's class. We also have a tuck shop selling hot and cold drinks along with other snack and refreshments upstairs.
In our nursery and reception classes we will take as young as 3 years old as long as they are potty trained. Please check our timetable for the ages of any other classes.
You will have to register online to become a member of Welsh Gymnastics. You will be given information about this at your class or via email. If you fail to register your child when asked they will not be allowed to attend the classes as they will not be insured. You can register on the Welsh Gymnastics sport 80 website.
All of our coaches are fully qualfied, DBS checked and hold safe guarding and protecting children certificates. A number of our coaches are also first aid qualified. We also have multiple welfare officers within the gym.
If the coaches believe that a gymnast has achieved all the required skills and is ready to move into a different class then the coach will speak with the parent/guardian at the end of the session and they will be invited to trial with the appropriate class. We do sometimes hold 'competitive group' trials which will be advertised on our website and social media.
Yes. We take the safeguarding of our gymnasts and members very seriously. All our staff members hold a safeguarding and protecting children certificate and we have multiple safeguarding officers. Our head officer being Sian who is available to talk in the tuck shop on most days.
