DGA Club Competition Celebrates Gymnasts and Champions

A friendly in-house competition can be one of the most important stepping stones in a gymnast’s journey. It gives young athletes the chance to perform, manage nerves, listen to feedback and feel proud of the work they have put in at training.

DGA’s recent club competition brought together gymnasts from the development and squad groups for a supportive day of routines, judging and celebration. Gymnasts from Zinc, Pre Comp and Pre Excel levels took part, showing their skills in front of judges and gaining valuable competition experience in a familiar environment.

A supportive day for building confidence

For many gymnasts, an in-house club competition is the perfect place to practise competing. It still feels exciting and official, with routines performed in front of judges, but the setting is familiar and encouraging.

That balance matters. Gymnasts get to experience the structure of a competition day without the added pressure of travelling to a large external event. They learn how to wait for their turn, present to the judges, recover from small mistakes and finish their routines with confidence.

The DGA club competition gave gymnasts the opportunity to show how much progress they have made in training. Each routine represented hours of practice, correction, repetition and determination. From neat shapes and pointed toes to brave skills and focused finishes, the day was packed with positive moments.

Congratulations to the overall champions

A big well done goes to all gymnasts who competed. Taking part, presenting routines and accepting feedback are all achievements worth celebrating.

Special congratulations go to the overall champions:

Pre Excel

Annabelle

These results reflect focus, hard work and the ability to perform when it mattered. Each champion should feel very proud of their achievement.

Competition results are always exciting, but the value of the day reached far beyond medals and placements. Every gymnast who stood up, presented and completed a routine gained something that will help them move forward.

Some gymnasts learned how to manage nerves. Some learned how to stay focused after a wobble. Some discovered they could do more than they thought. Those lessons are a vital part of gymnastics.

A team effort from coaches, judges and helpers

A successful club competition takes a lot of work behind the scenes. Coaches prepare the gymnasts, organise routines, support warm-ups and encourage athletes throughout the day.

Judges give their time and attention so every gymnast receives a fair experience. Their role helps gymnasts understand the standards of competition and gives meaning to the scores and placements.

Helpers also make a huge difference. From setting up equipment to keeping the day running smoothly, these contributions help create the friendly atmosphere that makes an in-house event so valuable.

DGA would like to say a sincere thank you to all coaches, judges and helpers who supported the competition. Their effort helped create a fabulous, friendly event for the gymnasts.

A proud day for the club

The club competition was a celebration of progress, confidence and hard work. It gave developing gymnasts a chance to take an important step forward, while also giving squad gymnasts another opportunity to perform and grow.

Most of all, it showed the strength of the DGA community. Gymnasts supported one another, coaches guided with care, and families were able to share in the pride of seeing routines performed.

Congratulations again to Nella, Lili, Annabelle and Macey on becoming overall champions, and well done to every gymnast who competed. The experience gained on the day will carry into future training, future routines and future competitions.
